This hardback book was commissioned by Liv Harris for their graduate project ‘in the twilight and when the sky is clouded’. The sequence collects a selection of photographs from Liv’s great-grandfather’s vast collection of glass negatives, all taken in the early 20th century.

This book was designed and sequenced in collaboration with Liv, with me making the hardback by hand, which includes debossed spine and front cover text, alongside five debossed image tip-ons of selected photographs from the archive. Through intentional sequencing and design, I wanted to construct a narrative of Leslie’s life, breaking up harsh photographs of industrial sites and factories with careful documentation of Leslie’s loved ones and quiet British landscapes.

Exhibited at Espacio Gallery, Shoreditch for ALTR & Kingston School of Art’s 2026 degree show.
